The Ultimate Mysore Food Trail | Stay Eat See Featured Story

Where to Eat in and Around Mysuru, Srirangapatna, Maddur & On the Way to Ooty – @sharaschandra

Best Places to Eat in Mysore | The Ultimate Mysuru Food Trail

Explore the ultimate Mysore food trail — from iconic Mylari dosas and legendary mess lunches to Srirangapatna idli stops, Maddur breakfasts, and Masinagudi drives toward Ooty.

Mysuru: A City Best Experienced Through Its Meals

Mysuru is often photographed for its palace, its symmetry, its quiet dignity.

But the real rhythm of the city begins earlier — at 7 AM — over a steel tumbler of filter coffee and a dosa that has been made the same way for generations.

Unlike trend-driven food cities, Mysuru does not reinvent itself for visitors. Its culinary culture is built around habit, loyalty, and deeply local appetite. Messes close when food runs out. Breakfast ends when batter finishes. Lunch is served with quiet efficiency on banana leaves.

This is not a checklist.
It is a food ritual — structured for travellers who want to eat with intention.

The Road to Mysore: Where the Trail Begins

Maddur – The Essential Highway Halt

No serious Mysore drive begins without a stop in Maddur.

Crisp vadas, golden dosas, and strong filter coffee mark the psychological shift from city to countryside. Arrive between 7:30 AM and 9:30 AM for the full experience.

Before the City: Srirangapatna

Roughly 25–30 minutes before Mysuru, Srirangapatna offers a quieter prelude.

Soft idlis paired with assertive chutney make for a purposeful breakfast stop if you prefer to eat before entering the city bustle. Go early — most traditional kitchens wind down by mid-morning.

Mysore Mornings: The Breakfast Institutions

The Mylari Ritual

A Mysore dosa is not a Bengaluru dosa.

It is thicker. Softer. Butter-forward. Comforting.

Breakfast here is simple: dosa, chutney, coffee. No distractions. No experimentation. Just decades of repetition done perfectly.

Arrive early. Expect queues. Trust the process.

Hanumanthu – For a Bold Start

If your idea of breakfast includes mutton, Mysuru obliges.

Non-vegetarian morning meals are a defining part of the city’s culinary identity. Rich gravies, mutton pulao, and unapologetic spice signal that this is a region that does not separate indulgence by time of day.

Lunch in Mysore: Banana Leaves & Mess Culture

By noon, the city shifts gears.

Steel plates give way to banana leaves. Meals are served quickly, efficiently, generously.

The Andhra Influence

Spice levels rise. Rice portions increase. Gravies deepen.

Andhra-style meals and biryanis are a Mysuru staple, especially in the central districts around Gandhi Square and Lashkar Mohalla.

Expect crowds between 12:30 PM and 2 PM.

The Mess Experience

To understand Mysore fully, you must eat at least one mess-style non-veg lunch.

Mutton oota is the benchmark. Rice, gravy, meat, and little ceremony.

Many of these establishments close on Mondays. Most close when food runs out. Timing is everything.

The Specialists: For Focused Cravings

Mysuru’s diversity expands beyond traditional Karnataka fare.

Beef chapati counters, Afghani-style gravies, Mughlai kitchens, and steak spots coexist quietly alongside dosa legends. These places rarely advertise loudly — locals simply know.

Open-Monday spots become especially valuable, as many traditional messes shut that day.

The Ooty Extension: Masinagudi Pause

If your journey continues toward Ooty, pause in Masinagudi for lunch before the hill ascent.

It is the perfect intermission — a refuel before winding roads and cooler air.

A Structured Weekend Food Plan

Option 1 – The Focused Day Trip

Maddur breakfast → Srirangapatna idli → Mysore mess lunch → Coffee → Return.

Option 2 – The Slow Weekend

Day 1: Mylari breakfast → Andhra lunch → Non-veg dinner
Day 2: Mess-style mutton oota → Market coffee → Masinagudi drive.

StayEatSee Editorial Take

Mysuru does not try to impress.
It simply feeds you — honestly, repeatedly, consistently.

Its food culture is built on discipline and repetition rather than reinvention. And that is precisely why it endures.

Arrive early. Eat generously. Respect the rhythm.

The Ultimate Mysore Food Trail is not about excess.
It is about understanding a city through its appetite.

What To Order At Super Naati, Bengaluru | A Stay Eat See Guide

A StayEatSee Guide to the Dishes That Define the Table

What to Order at Super Naati Bengaluru | Best Dishes & Insider Picks – StayEatSee

A StayEatSee insider guide to what to order at Super Naati, Bengaluru — from peppery crab soup and mutton nalli fry to donne biryani and classic South Indian desserts.

The Point of the Menu

Super Naati is not a place for cautious ordering. The menu is built for appetite, curiosity, and shared plates — a celebration of South India’s robust non-vegetarian traditions told through Tamil, Telugu, and Gowda kitchens.

This guide focuses on the dishes that best express the restaurant’s confidence: bold flavours, careful cooking, and food designed to be eaten together.

Start Strong

Pepper Crab Soup

A quietly brilliant opener. Warm, aromatic, and pepper-forward, this soup sets the tone immediately — spice-led without being aggressive, comforting without being tame. Ideal for easing into the meal while signalling what’s to come.

The Core of the Table

Mutton Nalli Fry

One of the menu’s most satisfying dishes. The marrow is cooked patiently, the meat tender and richly spiced without being overworked. This is a dish that rewards slow eating and second helpings.

Liver Masala

For those who eat with intent. Deeply spiced, unapologetic, and full-bodied, the liver masala delivers intensity without muddiness — a dish that announces Super Naati’s seriousness about flavour.

Andhra-Style Chilli Chicken

Heat-forward and assertive, yet well structured. The chillies bite, but the chicken remains juicy, making this a reliable crowd-pleaser for spice lovers.

Chicken Kebab

Crunchy on the outside, tender within. A textural counterpoint to the gravies, perfect for sharing and for pacing the meal.

Don’t Skip the Carbs

Dosa

Perfectly fermented, crisp, and never greasy. These dosas are not side players — they are essential tools for soaking up gravies and carrying flavour.

Nool Paratha

Soft, layered, and deeply satisfying. If there is one bread to anchor the table, this is it. Particularly good with mutton-based dishes.

The Biryani Moment

Mutton Donne Biryani

Confident, aromatic, and balanced. The rice carries spice without being overwhelmed, and the meat holds its own. This is a biryani that comfortably stands alongside Bengaluru’s most respected versions.

Order this even if you think you are full.

Save Room for Dessert

Chiroti

A classic done right. Flaky, lightly sweet, and restrained — the kind of dessert that respects tradition without excess.

Dum Root Halwa

Rich, comforting, and superbly executed. A fitting end to a meal built on generosity and depth.

How to Order Like a Regular

For a table of two or three:

  • Pepper crab soup
  • Mutton nalli fry
  • Andhra chilli chicken or liver masala
  • Dosa or nool paratha
  • Finish with chiroti or dum root halwa

For larger tables, add the mutton donne biryani and one additional kebab or curry.

StayEatSee Editorial Take

The best way to eat at Super Naati is without restraint. The kitchen rewards curiosity, generosity, and shared plates.

This is food that does not ask to be moderated — it asks to be enjoyed.

A menu that tells its story most clearly when ordered boldly.

Sarposh – Experience Kashmir, Bengaluru | Stay Eat See Featured Story

A Kashmiri Culinary Journey in the Heart of Indiranagar

Sarposh – Experience Kashmir, Indiranagar Bengaluru | Authentic Kashmiri Restaurant & Wazwan Experience

Looking for the best Kashmiri restaurant in Bengaluru? Sarposh – Experience Kashmir in Indiranagar serves authentic Wazwan cuisine, including Rogan Josh, Gushtaba, Yakhni and more. Approx ₹1,800 for two.

The Story

There are restaurants that serve food.
And then there are restaurants that transport you.

Sarposh – Experience Kashmir belongs firmly in the second category — and is widely regarded as one of the most authentic Kashmiri restaurants in Bengaluru. It also earns its place among the best restaurants in Indiranagar for diners seeking something beyond the usual café and pub circuit that defines the neighbourhood.

Located in the lively neighbourhood of Indiranagar — one of the most popular dining destinations in Bengaluru — this thoughtfully designed restaurant offers more than a meal. It offers a sensory introduction to Kashmir’s culinary heritage while standing out among the best places to eat in Indiranagar for regional Indian cuisine. For travellers who have walked along Dal Lake or driven through the valleys of the north, the flavours evoke nostalgia. For everyone else, it offers discovery without needing a boarding pass.

From the moment you step in, the mood shifts. Warm interiors, subtle Kashmiri design elements, and a slower rhythm of dining create a space that feels intentional and immersive.

Authentic Kashmiri Cuisine in Bengaluru: Understanding Wazwan

Kashmiri cuisine is often misunderstood as simply “rich North Indian food.” It is far more nuanced.

At Sarposh, the menu draws from the traditions of Wazwan — the ceremonial, multi-course feast that defines Kashmiri hospitality. The cuisine celebrates technique, layering of spices, and patient cooking.

Expect gravies that are aromatic rather than aggressively spicy. Expect meats that are tender from slow cooking. Expect flavours built on saffron, fennel, dried ginger, and gentle warmth rather than heavy tomato-onion bases.

Signature preparations typically include:

  • Rogan Josh with deep, earthy warmth
  • Yakhni-style curries that are yoghurt-based and delicately spiced
  • Gushtaba — hand-pounded meat dumplings in a velvety gravy
  • Tabak Maaz — crisp yet succulent lamb ribs

Vegetarian diners are equally well catered to, with traditional Kashmiri dishes that feel authentic rather than adapted.

A Traveller’s Dining Experience in Bengaluru

What makes Sarposh compelling is its clarity of identity.

This is not fusion cuisine.
This is not generic North Indian fare.

It is cuisine shaped by geography, climate, and centuries of tradition.

For Bengaluru diners accustomed to coastal spice profiles or fiery Andhra heat, Sarposh offers a completely different rhythm — fragrant, layered, and unhurried.

It works beautifully for:

  • Travellers exploring regional Indian cuisines
  • Long, relaxed weekend lunches
  • Intimate dinners that prioritise conversation
  • Culinary explorers seeking depth over trend

What to Order at Sarposh – Experience Kashmir

If you are visiting Sarposh for the first time and want a well-rounded introduction to authentic Kashmiri cuisine in Bengaluru, start with these:

  • Rogan Josh – The classic Kashmiri lamb curry, slow-cooked with aromatic spices and deep, earthy flavours.
  • Gushtaba – Soft, hand-pounded mutton dumplings finished in a luxurious yoghurt-based gravy; a highlight of traditional Wazwan feasts.
  • Yakhni (Mutton or Paneer) – A delicately spiced yoghurt curry that showcases the finesse of Kashmiri cooking.
  • Tabak Maaz – Crisp-fried lamb ribs that are succulent inside and lightly spiced.
  • Dum Aloo (Kashmiri style) – Baby potatoes cooked in a rich, spice-forward gravy distinct from standard North Indian versions.
  • Kahwa – Traditional Kashmiri saffron tea, lightly sweet and aromatic, to complete the meal.

This selection offers a balanced experience of meats, gravies, texture, and the signature flavour profile that defines Wazwan cuisine.

Practical Information

Address:
First Floor, 39, 80 Feet Road, Opposite 12th Main Road, Above Crossword, HAL 3rd Stage, Indiranagar, Bengaluru, Karnataka 560075

Approx Price for Two: ₹1,800

Situated in one of Bengaluru’s most walkable and food-forward neighbourhoods, Sarposh pairs well with an afternoon exploring Indiranagar’s boutiques, bookstores, and cafés. If you are compiling a list of the best restaurants in Indiranagar for a relaxed lunch or refined dinner, Sarposh deserves serious consideration.

Why Sarposh Ranks Among the Best Restaurants in Indiranagar

Bengaluru is known for its culinary diversity, yet deeply regional Indian cuisines presented with authenticity remain rare.

Among the many restaurants in Indiranagar, Sarposh stands out because it resists dilution. It does not simplify Kashmir for mainstream appeal. Instead, it invites diners to experience the cuisine properly — with patience and curiosity. And that makes all the difference.

StayEatSee Editorial Take

Sarposh is for diners who travel through food. It is for those who want to understand a place not just by its landscapes, but by its spices, techniques, and traditions. In a city defined by innovation and reinvention, Sarposh quietly does something more enduring:

It stays true.

A warm, fragrant, and culturally rich dining experience in the heart of Bengaluru.

Super Naati, Bengaluru | A StayEatSee Featured Story

A Confident New Voice for South India’s Non‑Vegetarian Table

Super Naati Bengaluru | South Indian Non‑Vegetarian Restaurant – StayEatSee

Super Naati in Bengaluru reclaims South India’s robust non‑vegetarian food traditions through home-style recipes, bold flavours, and a contemporary dining experience rooted in Tamil, Telugu and Gowda cuisines.

The Story

For decades, South Indian food — especially in cities like Bengaluru and Chennai — has been introduced to the world through a narrow lens of tiffin rooms, filtered by ideas of purity and restraint. Idlis, dosas, and filter coffee became ambassadors, while an entire universe of robust, deeply spiced, proudly non‑vegetarian food remained largely underrepresented.

Super Naati arrives as a necessary and confident correction.

This is a restaurant that believes South Indian food deserves to be understood in its full spectrum — not just as breakfast plates and vegetarian staples, but as a cuisine shaped by land, labour, fire, and flavour. At Super Naati, non‑vegetarian cooking is not an add-on. It is the heart of the table.

A Pan‑South Lens, Rooted in Home Kitchens

Super Naati’s menu spans the southern states, with a particular focus on Tamil, Telugu, and Gowda food traditions. What gives the restaurant its soul, however, is not geography but lineage.

Many of the dishes are inspired by home recipes from founder Naga’s mother, lending the menu an authenticity that feels lived-in rather than curated. These are flavours shaped by repetition, instinct, and memory — the kind that don’t rely on explanation.

The cooking is unapologetically bold, grounded in spice, texture, and depth.

What to Eat: A Table Built for Serious Appetites

A meal at Super Naati unfolds generously, rewarding those who order widely and share.

Start with the peppery crab soup, warming and aromatic, setting the tone for what follows. The mutton nalli fry is cooked with care — tender, well-balanced, and deeply satisfying. The liver masala delivers exactly what it promises: intensity, depth, and a proper punch of flavour.

The Andhra-style chilli chicken leans into heat without losing structure, while the chicken kebab offers a pleasing crunch that contrasts beautifully with softer gravies.

While the restaurant champions meat-forward cooking, its starches deserve equal attention. The dosas are a standout — perfectly fermented, crisp without being greasy, and ideal for soaking up gravies. Even better is the nool paratha, supple and layered, acting as the perfect vehicle for the kitchen’s bold flavours.

And then there is the mutton donne biryani — confident, aromatic, and capable of holding its own against the city’s most talked-about versions.

Desserts That Hold Their Ground

Dessert is not an afterthought here. A classic chiroti, flaky and restrained, brings familiarity, while the dum root halwa is superb — rich without being overwhelming, and deeply comforting.

It is a rare thing for a restaurant so firmly focused on savoury intensity to finish with such assurance.

Contemporary, But Comfort‑First

Super Naati feels like the next iteration of a beloved Bengaluru genre — one that includes institutions such as Nagarjuna and Meghna Foods. But it nudges the experience forward.

The space is more contemporary, the pacing more relaxed, and the overall experience slightly more upscale — without losing the immediacy and warmth that define this style of dining. Remarkably, the pricing remains approachable, especially given the location.

It is aspirational without being exclusionary.

Why Super Naati Matters

Alongside trailblazers like Malgudi Mylari Mane, Super Naati represents a shift — a reclamation of South Indian non‑vegetarian food as something worthy of pride, curiosity, and wider discovery.

This is not nostalgia dressed up for modern diners. It is tradition, standing confidently in the present.

StayEatSee Editorial Take

Super Naati feels important. Not just because the food is excellent — though it is — but because it reframes how South Indian cuisine is seen and celebrated.

This is a restaurant that trusts its flavours, honours its roots, and invites Bengaluru to eat without apology.

A bold, generous, and deeply satisfying addition to the city’s food landscape.

The Kelso House, Ooty | A 200 year old Colonial-era Heritage Bungalow In The Nilgiris

A Restored Colonial Bungalow Where Time Slows Down in the Nilgiris

The Kelso House Ooty | Heritage Colonial Bungalow Stay in the Nilgiris – StayEatSee

The Kelso House in Ooty is a lovingly restored colonial-era bungalow offering an intimate heritage stay in the Nilgiris, surrounded by mist, gardens, and old-world charm.

High in the mist-laced hills of the Nilgiris, The Kelso House stands as a quiet reminder of Ooty’s colonial past — elegant, unhurried, and deeply atmospheric. This restored heritage bungalow is not a hotel in the conventional sense, but a private home opened thoughtfully to travellers who value character over excess.

Set away from Ooty’s crowded centre, The Kelso House offers a version of the hill station that feels increasingly rare: calm mornings, crackling fireplaces, long conversations over tea, and evenings that retreat into silence.

Why The Kelso House Matters to the Traveller

Ooty has long attracted visitors for its climate and scenery, but few stays truly capture its historical soul. The Kelso House does exactly that. Staying here feels less like checking into accommodation and more like being welcomed into a well-preserved family home.

For travellers interested in architecture, heritage, and the romance of old hill stations, this is an experience that reveals Ooty beyond tourist itineraries.

The Setting: Mist, Gardens & Colonial Calm

The property is surrounded by mature trees, manicured lawns, and the gentle hush of the hills. Mist drifts in and out through the day, changing the mood of the house hour by hour. The location allows guests to enjoy proximity to Ooty while remaining insulated from its bustle.

The bungalow itself reflects classic colonial proportions — high ceilings, large windows, wooden floors, and verandahs designed for watching the weather roll by.

Rooms & The Stay Experience

Accommodation at The Kelso House is intentionally limited, ensuring privacy and a sense of exclusivity. Each room is distinct, furnished with period pieces, soft lighting, and understated comforts.

  • High ceilings and heritage architecture
  • Thoughtful modern amenities blended discreetly into the space
  • Views of gardens and misty hills
  • A quiet, residential atmosphere rather than hotel formality

The emphasis is on comfort, warmth, and a feeling of belonging.

Dining: Simple, Seasonal & Homestyle

Meals at The Kelso House follow the rhythm of the hills. Food is homestyle, seasonal, and comforting — often enjoyed in a communal setting that encourages conversation.

Think hearty breakfasts, warming lunches, and dinners that suit cool Nilgiri evenings. Tea, served generously, becomes a ritual rather than a refreshment.

Living Spaces & Slow Afternoons

Common areas include cosy living rooms with fireplaces, reading corners, and verandahs that invite you to sit and do very little. Afternoons here are best spent with a book, a view, or simply watching the fog drift across the lawns.

There is no pressure to fill your time — The Kelso House rewards stillness.

Experiences Around the Property

While many guests are content staying in, The Kelso House also serves as a gentle base to explore the Nilgiris:

  • Morning walks through quiet hill roads
  • Visits to tea gardens and viewpoints
  • Short drives to heritage landmarks around Ooty
  • Evenings by the fireplace with conversation and quiet music

Who This Stay Is Perfect For

Experiences here are organic, never scheduled or staged.

  • Travellers seeking heritage and character-led stays
  • Couples looking for a quiet hill escape
  • Writers, readers, and creatives in need of stillness
  • Visitors wanting to experience Ooty beyond crowds
  • Guests who appreciate homes over hotels

The People Behind The Kelso House

What truly elevates a stay at The Kelso House is the people who run it. The bungalow is lovingly managed by the owning family, custodians of this historic Nilgiris home across generations. Their approach is deeply personal — guests are welcomed not as hotel patrons but as visitors to a lived-in heritage home.

Stories of the house, Ooty’s colonial past, old planting trails and local culture are shared organically over tea, fireside conversations or leisurely walks through the property. This quiet, hands-on presence ensures the experience feels warm, intuitive and authentic — never scripted.

For travellers who value human connection as much as architecture and setting, this sense of continuity and care becomes one of The Kelso House’s most memorable luxuries.

Practical Information

The Kelso House is not about amenities or indulgence — it is about atmosphere, memory, and pace. In a hill station that often feels hurried, this heritage bungalow offers something quietly radical: the luxury of slowing down.

A stay that feels like stepping into Ooty’s past — and staying there awhile.

Naati Food In Bengaluru | An Insider’s Guide To The City’s Most Rooted Cuisine

An Insider’s Guide to the City’s Most Rooted, Soulful Cuisine

Naati Food in Bengaluru | Traditional Karnataka Cuisine & Local Dining – StayEatSee

From naati chicken curries to rustic jolada rotis, Bengaluru’s naati food scene reveals the city’s deepest culinary roots. An insider guide for curious travellers and locals.

Beneath Bengaluru’s global reputation for craft cocktails, specialty coffee, and modern dining lies a food culture that is far older, quieter, and infinitely more personal. Naati food — literally meaning local or of the land — is the city’s most honest expression of Karnataka’s culinary soul.

This is food shaped by farms, seasons, and memory. Recipes passed down rather than written, flavours built patiently rather than plated theatrically. To seek out naati food in Bengaluru is to step away from trends and into the everyday lives of the people who have shaped the region.

For travellers, it offers a deeper, more grounded way of understanding the city.

What Exactly Is Naati Food?

Naati food refers to traditional, regional Karnataka cooking, often associated with rural kitchens, old Bengaluru neighbourhoods, and community-run eateries. The emphasis is on native ingredients, slow cooking, and bold, unapologetic flavours.

Key characteristics include:

  • Use of local grains like ragi and jolada
  • Freshly ground masalas made daily
  • Liberal use of coconut, tamarind, and chillies
  • Minimal processing and zero fuss

While naati food is often associated with non-vegetarian cooking, especially chicken and mutton, vegetarian naati dishes are equally rich and deeply satisfying.

The Heart of the Cuisine: Naati Chicken & Beyond

At the centre of Bengaluru’s naati food culture is naati chicken — free-range, country chicken cooked slowly until the meat absorbs layers of spice and depth. The result is a curry that is robust, slightly chewy, and intensely flavourful.

But the cuisine goes far beyond one dish.

Expect to encounter:

  • Naati chicken and mutton curries with thick, spice-forward gravies
  • Ragi mudde, steamed finger millet balls eaten by hand
  • Jolada roti, rustic sorghum flatbreads
  • Bas saaru, a thin, aromatic lentil broth
  • Palya and soppu dishes made from seasonal greens

Meals are often communal, tactile, and deeply satisfying.

Where Naati Food Lives in Bengaluru

Naati food thrives not in polished dining rooms but in no-frills military hotels, old darshinis, and family-run kitchens scattered across the city.

Neighbourhoods like Basavanagudi, Jayanagar, Malleshwaram, Yeshwanthpur, and parts of Old Bengaluru are rich with establishments where recipes have remained unchanged for decades.

Many of these places open early, cook until they sell out, and close without ceremony — a rhythm dictated by demand and tradition rather than marketing.

The Experience: Eating With Your Hands, Standing Your Ground

Naati food is rarely about comfort seating or curated ambience. It is about the food arriving hot, the flavours speaking loudly, and the act of eating being physical and immersive.

Meals are often eaten by hand, especially when paired with ragi mudde or rice. Spice levels are unapologetic. Portions are generous. Service is brisk.

For travellers, this is part of the appeal — an experience that feels real rather than refined.

Naati Food for the Curious Traveller

Seeking out naati food in Bengaluru offers travellers:

  • A glimpse into everyday Karnataka life
  • Dishes rarely found outside the state
  • A counterpoint to the city’s cosmopolitan dining scene
  • An understanding of how food connects to land, labour, and season

It is not designed for first impressions, but for lasting ones.

How to Approach Your First Naati Meal

For newcomers, a few gentle guidelines help:

  • Ask what has sold well that day — menus are often flexible
  • Start with chicken before moving to mutton or offal dishes
  • Pair curries with ragi mudde or jolada roti for authenticity
  • Eat slowly — the spice builds

Most importantly, arrive with curiosity rather than expectations.

Who Naati Food Is For

Naati food in Bengaluru will resonate with:

  • Culinary travellers seeking authenticity
  • Guests interested in regional Indian cuisines
  • Those who value flavour over presentation
  • Anyone willing to eat like a local

StayEatSee Editorial Take

Naati food is Bengaluru’s culinary backbone — resilient, rooted, and quietly confident. It does not chase attention, yet it endures.

To eat naati food is to understand the city beyond its skyline. It is a reminder that the most meaningful meals are often the least adorned.

A cuisine that belongs to the land — and invites you to meet it on its own terms.

A Cocktail-Only Guide to the Cantina’s Agave-Led Best

What to Order at Mezcalita Bengaluru | Best Mezcal & Tequila Cocktails – StayEatSee

A cocktail-only insider guide to Mezcalita, Bengaluru — spotlighting the best mezcal and tequila cocktails, agave-forward signatures, and drinks every first-time visitor must order.

Non-Negotiables for Groups

8. Classic Tequila Margarita Pitcher

If you’re visiting with friends, ordering a pitcher is almost mandatory. Freshly made and well-balanced, it sets the tone for a long, social evening.

Why order it: Best value, best vibe.
Profile: Citrus · Clean · Crowd-pleasing

Zero-Proof & Low-Alcohol Picks

Mezcalita also offers agua frescas and lighter highballs for guests pacing themselves or skipping alcohol entirely.

What to try: Hibiscus, citrus, or tropical fruit-based coolers with spice accents.

How to Order Like an Insider

  • Start with a Paloma or Mezcal Margarita
  • Move into spicy or fruit-driven mezcal cocktails
  • End with a spirit-forward mezcal Old Fashioned

Mezcalita’s cocktail menu succeeds because it doesn’t intimidate. It educates quietly — one well-balanced drink at a time. Whether you’re new to mezcal or already converted, the bar offers enough range to keep every visit interesting.

Come for the margarita, stay for the mezcal, and leave knowing agave deserves a permanent place in Bengaluru’s cocktail conversation.

Top 5 Cocktails in Bangalore Right Now

Top 5 Cocktails in Bangalore Right Now | What to Order – StayEatSee

From precision-driven classics to ingredient-forward originals, these are the top 5 cocktails to order in Bangalore right now—curated by StayEatSee for those who drink with intent.

Bangalore’s cocktail scene doesn’t chase trends—it builds them. Across hotel bars, standalone cocktail labs, and chef-led dining rooms, the city’s bartenders are crafting drinks that prioritise balance, technique, and restraint over spectacle.

This StayEatSee edit highlights five cocktails that define Bangalore right now. These are not novelty drinks. They are carefully constructed, repeatedly ordered, and quietly influential.

1. The Latin Martini – Copitas, Four Seasons Hotel Bengaluru

Why it matters:
Copitas has set the national benchmark for luxury cocktail programs, and the Latin Martini remains its most quietly iconic drink.

Built around premium Latin American spirits, clarified citrus, and precise temperature control, this cocktail is about texture and finish rather than theatrics. It’s the drink that regulars order without looking at the menu.

Flavour profile: Clean, spirit-forward, elegant acidity
When to order: As your first drink of the evening
Insider note: Ask for the seasonal Latin spirit variation

2. Foraged Gimlet – Forage

Why it matters:
Forage represents Bangalore’s ingredient-first philosophy, and this gimlet changes with what’s available locally—sometimes citrus leaves, sometimes wild berries, sometimes herbs you won’t recognise.

The drink is restrained, low-sugar, and deliberately transparent in flavour. It reflects the city’s shift toward sustainability and seasonality.

Flavour profile: Bright, herbal, lightly acidic
When to order: Early evening or as a palate opener
Insider note: Ask what’s foraged that week before ordering

3. Japanese Highball (House Style) – Soka

Why it matters:
At Soka, the Highball is treated as a discipline, not a simple mixed drink. Crystal-clear ice, controlled dilution, and Japanese whisky precision turn this into a lesson in minimalism.

It’s a cocktail for those who understand that difficulty often hides behind simplicity.

Flavour profile: Clean, crisp, ultra-refreshing
When to order: Anytime—especially with food
Insider note: Sit at the bar and watch the build

4. Barrel-Aged Negroni – The Library Bar, ITC Gardenia

Why it matters:
A classic done with patience. The barrel-aged Negroni at The Library Bar softens bitterness while deepening spice and warmth.

This cocktail appeals to Bangalore’s mature drinking audience—those who value familiarity refined by time.

Flavour profile: Bitter-sweet, rounded, complex
When to order: Late evening
Insider note: Ask how long the current batch has been aged

5. Experimental Milk Punch – Hoots’ Cocktail Lab

Why it matters:
Hoots operates like a research studio, and the rotating Milk Punch is its most expressive creation. Clarified, layered, and deceptively light, this cocktail showcases technique without arrogance.

Each iteration is different, but the intent remains the same—texture, balance, and finish.

Flavour profile: Silky, nuanced, surprising
When to order: When you want to see what Bangalore is experimenting with
Insider note: Ask what problem the current version was designed to solve

Why These Cocktails Matter

Together, these five drinks reveal where Bangalore is heading:

  • Less sugar, more balance
  • Technique over performance
  • Ingredients with context
  • Bartenders as craftsmen, not entertainers

This is Bangalore drinking at its most confident.

StayEatSee Editorial Note

Cocktails are selected based on repeat orders, bartender consensus, and consistency—not virality. This list will evolve as the city does.

Where Mexico’s Everyday Fiesta Meets Garden City Cool

Mezcalita Bengaluru | Mexican Cantina & Mezcal Bar in Indiranagar – StayEatSee

Mezcalita in Indiranagar, Bengaluru is a vibrant Mexican cantina and agave-forward bar celebrating mezcal, tequila-led cocktails, regional Mexican food, and a high-energy social atmosphere.

In a city that thrives on global flavours and evolving nightlife, Mezcalita arrives in Indiranagar, Bengaluru as a bold, culture-driven Mexican cantina that goes far beyond tacos and margaritas. Rooted in the everyday drinking and dining traditions of Mexico, Mezcalita is built around agave spirits, shared plates, and a sense of celebration that feels both authentic and contemporary.

Already a favourite in Mumbai, Mezcalita’s Bengaluru outpost brings that same spirited energy to one of the city’s most vibrant neighbourhoods — a space designed for long evenings, loud conversations, and cocktails that tell stories.

A Space That Feels Like a Fiesta

Mezcalita’s design sets the tone even before you step inside. Arched windows, bold colours, mezcal-inspired murals, and warm lighting create a space that feels playful yet grounded. Inside, the bar takes centre stage — a glowing display of tequilas and mezcals that pays homage to the agave plant at the heart of Mexican drinking culture.

Handcrafted details, layered textures, and bursts of colour give the space a sense of movement, making it equally suited for casual after-work drinks, date nights, or high-energy group gatherings.

Food That Travels Across Mexico

The menu at Mezcalita draws inspiration from multiple regions of Mexico, balancing street-style favourites with heartier plates meant for sharing.

Expect:

  • Chip & Dip Méxicana and loaded nachos (chilaquiles) for easy starts
  • Street cart corn (elote) and bold, spice-forward small plates
  • Tacos in soft, hard, and flour shells designed for mix-and-match ordering
  • Burritos, tortas, and flautas that showcase comforting, layered flavours
  • Select mains like slow-cooked ribs and regional pasta-style dishes

Vegetarian options are thoughtfully integrated, making the menu approachable for a wide range of diners.

An Agave-First Cocktail Program

Mezcalita’s bar program is its strongest statement. The focus is firmly on mezcal and tequila, explored through inventive cocktails that respect tradition while embracing creativity.

Signature drinks highlight smoked agave notes, tropical fruits, spices, and unexpected techniques — from nut-infused spirits to savoury, chilli-led profiles. The result is a cocktail list that encourages exploration, whether you’re new to mezcal or already an agave enthusiast.

For those who prefer lighter pours, classic margarita variations, refreshing highballs, and non-alcoholic agua frescas ensure there’s something for every pace and preference.

The Mezcalita Vibe

The atmosphere at Mezcalita shifts seamlessly through the evening — relaxed in the early hours, energetic as the night unfolds. Music, lighting, and service come together to create a space that feels social without being overwhelming.

It’s a bar that rewards lingering — ordering one more taco, one more cocktail, and letting the night find its own rhythm.

Mezcalita is ideal for:

  • Cocktail lovers exploring mezcal and tequila beyond the basics
  • Travellers seeking global flavours rooted in cultural storytelling
  • Groups looking for a lively, food-forward bar experience
  • Bengaluru locals who enjoy high-energy dining without formality

Capella Forest Retreat, Goa – A Quiet Forest Hideaway Near the Coast

Capella Forest Retreat Goa | Boutique Forest Homestay in North Goa – StayEatSee

Capella Forest Retreat is a boutique, owner-run forest homestay in Parra, North Goa. Surrounded by greenery and minutes from the coast, it offers slow living, warm hospitality, and a deeply calming stay.

Goa is often described through its beaches, its parties, and its seasons. But beyond the shoreline and away from the noise lies another version of the state—one shaped by forests, village roads, and homes that open gently to travellers. Capella Forest Retreat, tucked into the leafy village of Parra in North Goa, belongs firmly to this quieter narrative.

Capella is not a resort and it makes no attempt to entertain. Instead, it offers something increasingly rare in Goa: privacy, warmth, and a sense of being invited into a thoughtfully lived-in space rather than checked into a property.

Why Capella Matters to the Traveller

For travellers who return to Goa seeking rest rather than recreation, Capella feels instinctively right. Days here unfold slowly—morning light filtering through trees, long breakfasts, unhurried swims, and afternoons spent reading or simply listening to the forest.

It appeals to those who want access to North Goa’s beaches and food scene without living inside the chaos of it. Capella allows you to dip into Goa’s energy when you choose, and retreat into stillness when you don’t.

Set on a private, forested hillside, Capella is surrounded by dense greenery on most sides. Birdsong replaces traffic noise, and the air feels noticeably cooler than the coastal belt below. The property looks out over treetops rather than roads, giving it a sense of elevation—both literal and emotional.

The Setting: A Forested Hill in Parra

Despite the seclusion, Capella is well located. Assagao, Anjuna, and North Goa’s beaches are a short drive away, making it easy to explore while still returning to a calm base.

Design & Spaces

Capella’s design reflects restraint and warmth. Architecture is tropical and open, with verandas, sit-outs, shaded courtyards, and large windows that keep the outdoors present at all times. Interiors feel personal rather than styled—furniture is functional, spaces are uncluttered, and nothing competes with the surrounding greenery.

A centrally placed swimming pool overlooks the forest canopy and becomes the natural heart of the property. It’s a space meant for lingering, not laps.

Rooms & Stay Experience

Capella has a small number of individually named rooms, each with its own character and relationship to the outdoors. Rooms are spacious, comfortable, and designed for long stays rather than overnight turnover.

Expect thoughtful essentials: good beds, clean bathrooms, air-conditioning, strong Wi‑Fi, and quiet corners to sit with a book or laptop. What distinguishes the stay is not luxury in the conventional sense, but the ease with which guests feel at home.

Hospitality is personal and intuitive. Hosts are present without being intrusive, attentive without being formal—a balance seasoned travellers value deeply.

Food: Comfort, Care & Morning Rituals

Meals at Capella follow a home-style rhythm. Breakfast is freshly prepared each day and often includes a mix of Indian classics, local Goan elements, and simple comfort dishes.

Food here is not designed to impress but to nourish. It becomes part of the daily ritual—slow mornings, conversations over coffee, and a sense of being looked after rather than served.

Who Capella Is For

Capella Forest Retreat is ideal for:

  • Slow travellers and repeat visitors to Goa
  • Couples seeking privacy and calm
  • Solo travellers, writers, and creatives
  • Nature lovers who value greenery over nightlife
  • Families looking for space and safety without resort crowds

It is not suited to party-focused itineraries or travellers looking for beachfront buzz.

Exploring Around Capella

Capella’s location allows for meaningful exploration without long travel times:

  • Cafés and restaurants in Assagao and Anjuna
  • North Goa’s beaches, accessed on your own schedule
  • Village walks through Parra’s quiet lanes
  • Local markets and bakeries for unplanned discoveries

Many guests, however, find their favourite moments come from staying in—by the pool, on a veranda, or under the trees.

Practical Information

Property Name: Capella Forest Retreat & Homestay
Location: Parra Village, North Goa, Goa, India
Address: Bokachi Aradi, Parra, North Goa, Goa 403510

Email: capellaingoa@gmail.com
Getting There: Approximately 45 minutes from Manohar International Airport (Mopa) and about 1 hour from Dabolim Airport. Assagao, Anjuna, and North Goa beaches are a short drive away.
Best Time to Visit: October to March for pleasant weather; June to September for travellers who enjoy lush greenery and quiet monsoon days.
Ideal Length of Stay: 2–4 nights for a slow, restorative experience.

StayEatSee Editorial Note

Capella Forest Retreat represents a version of Goa that is becoming harder to find—gentle, grounded, and deeply human. It is a place that encourages travellers to trade excess for attention, and speed for presence.

StayEatSee recommends Capella to those who believe that the best journeys are often the quietest ones.

New Cafe Launch: Bangalore Based Maverick & Farmer launches their 6th outlet in India at Sobha Mall, Church Street, Bengaluru

The 1,500 sq. ft. open-air café brings Indian single-estate coffee, farm-to-cup storytelling, and contemporary design inspired by the brand’s Coorg estate to the heart of the city.

Maverick & Farmer has launched its sixth café in India at Sobha Mall on St. Mark’s Road, Bengaluru, further strengthening its presence in the city’s growing specialty coffee scene. Spanning 1,500 sq. ft., the new open-air café is designed as an immersive space that reflects the journey of Indian coffee from farm to city, blending contemporary café culture with strong material and spatial storytelling.

Designed to be open, breathable, and connected to the city, the café allows guests to enjoy coffee in a relaxed outdoor setting while remaining part of Bengaluru’s urban energy. Staying true to the brand’s philosophy of transparency and traceability, Maverick & Farmer continues to source single-estate beans directly from Indian coffee farms, roasting them in small batches to highlight the diversity and depth of Indian-origin coffee.

The design of the café draws direct inspiration from Maverick & Farmer’s Coorg coffee estate. A restored 1970s Massey Ferguson tractor forms the centrepiece of the barista station, with the coffee counter referencing farm trailers used to transport coffee cherries. Clay tiles inspired by traditional drying yards, estate-style glass windows, espresso-toned walls, and live Arabica and Robusta plants reinforce the farm connection. Details such as lighting made from repurposed coffee jute sacks and burlap installations further bring the farm-to-cup narrative to life.

The menu features Maverick & Farmer’s signature espresso-based beverages, manual brews, and cold coffees, paired with a thoughtfully curated food selection designed to complement the coffee program. Visual storytelling across the café highlights both the beverages and the craftsmanship behind them, reinforcing the brand’s coffee-first approach.

Commenting on the launch, Sreeram Gangadharan, Co-founder & Partner, Maverick & Farmer, said that Bengaluru continues to play a central role in India’s evolving coffee culture. He noted that the open-air format and farm-to-city design narrative reflect the brand’s journey from land to cup, while Sobha Mall’s strong footfall, visibility, and accessibility made it a strategic choice as Maverick & Farmer expands thoughtfully across India.

With this opening, Maverick & Farmer continues to create carefully designed café spaces that encourage consumers to slow down, engage, and rediscover Indian coffee in a modern, immersive setting.

Rhino & River Wildlife Retreat & Spa, Assam | Luxury Wildlife Stay Near Pobitora – StayEatSee

Rhino & River Wildlife Retreat & Spa near Pobitora Wildlife Sanctuary in Assam is a boutique nature lodge offering immersive safaris, river experiences, spa rituals, and authentic Assamese hospitality.

At the edge of the Brahmaputra’s floodplains and the grasslands of Pobitora, Rhino & River Wildlife Retreat & Spa offers a rare kind of luxury — one rooted in landscape, wildlife, and stillness. This intimate, owner‑run retreat in Mayang, Assam, places travellers close to one of India’s most important wildlife regions while maintaining a deep respect for local culture and ecology.

Far removed from conventional resort tourism, Rhino & River is designed for travellers who value immersion over indulgence, and experiences over excess. Here, the wild is not curated — it is encountered.

Why Rhino & River Matters to the Traveller

Pobitora Wildlife Sanctuary is home to one of the highest densities of the endangered one‑horned rhinoceros anywhere in the world. Staying at Rhino & River means waking up minutes away from these grasslands, with expert‑led safaris, river explorations, and nature walks shaping the rhythm of your days.

What sets this retreat apart is scale and intent. With a limited number of rooms, the experience remains personal and unhurried. The team encourages guests to slow down — to notice bird calls at dawn, mist lifting from the fields, and village life unfolding beyond the property gates.

The Setting: Where Assam Reveals Itself

Located in the culturally rich region of Mayang, the retreat sits between agricultural land, wetlands, and forest corridors that lead toward Pobitora and the Brahmaputra River. This is rural Assam at its most evocative — green, fertile, and deeply connected to tradition.

Architecturally, the property draws inspiration from Assamese vernacular forms, using natural materials, open spaces, and handcrafted details that feel contemporary yet grounded. The result is a lodge that belongs to its surroundings rather than dominating them.

Rooms & Stay Experience

Accommodation at Rhino & River is designed to feel like a private refuge. The rooms are spacious, thoughtfully planned, and oriented toward nature rather than spectacle.

Expect:

  • Interiors accented with local textiles and craft elements
  • Modern comforts balanced with an open, airy design
  • A sense of quiet that allows nature to take centre stage

The experience is equally suited to wildlife enthusiasts, couples seeking seclusion, and families looking for meaningful time together.

Wildlife, River & Cultural Experiences

  • Birdwatching walks through wetlands and forest edges rich in migratory species
  • Brahmaputra river excursions, offering a different perspective of Assam’s ecology
  • Village walks in Mayang, known for folklore, traditional practices, and rural life

Each experience is paced to allow genuine engagement rather than rushed sightseeing.

Dining is relaxed and unpretentious — often accompanied by views of open land and changing skies, reinforcing the sense that food here is part of the journey, not an interruption from it.

Spa, Pool & Slow Afternoons

The Nirban Spa offers treatments inspired by indigenous wellness traditions, using natural oils and techniques designed to restore balance after days spent outdoors.

A temperature‑controlled swimming pool provides a place to unwind between safaris, while open communal spaces invite reading, reflection, or simply listening to the sounds of the countryside.

Maverick & Farmer and Square Burgers & Co. Secure $1.5 Million Funding to Fuel Nationwide Expansion

Good Farmer Food Concepts, the Bengaluru-based company behind Maverick & Farmer Coffee and Square Burgers & Co., has raised $1.5 million in a Pre-Series A funding round, marking its first external capital raise. The round is led by CreedCap, with participation from Indian sports icons Rohan Bopanna and Rahul Dravid, along with Meraki Sport & Entertainment. The funding signals a new phase of growth for the homegrown food and beverage company.

The fresh capital will be used to expand Maverick & Farmer cafés across Mumbai, Delhi NCR, Goa, and Bengaluru, strengthen production and R&D capabilities, and scale the brand’s growing retail business. Alongside cafés, Maverick & Farmer is investing heavily in its retail vertical, which includes curated specialty coffee roasts and brewing equipment designed for India’s rapidly growing home-brewing community. The company currently operates seven outlets across Bengaluru and Goa and plans to reach ten locations by the end of the year.

Founded by Ashish D’abreo, Sreeram Gangadharan, and Tej Thammaiah, Good Farmer Food Concepts has built its reputation on a product-first approach, combining experimentation with deep respect for craft. Maverick & Farmer is known for pushing boundaries in Indian coffee, while Square Burgers & Co. brings a fresh, health-forward take to fast food. Together, the brands reflect the founders’ focus on quality, innovation, and long-term brand building rather than rapid, unchecked expansion.

For co-founder Sreeram Gangadharan, the journey has always been about getting the basics right before scaling. “We focused first on building strong teams, solid operations, and clear brand identities. Once that foundation was in place, expanding and raising capital felt like the natural next step,” he shares. Each Maverick & Farmer café is designed to connect with its local community, while Square Burgers experiments with healthier fast-food formats without compromising on taste.

Launched in 2021, Maverick & Farmer Coffee is one of India’s early farm-to-cup specialty coffee brands, backed by a 140-acre coffee estate in Pollibetta, Coorg, where new brews and profiles are constantly tested. Beyond its cafés, the brand has built a strong B2B presence, supplying coffee to names like Second Cup Coffee, Magnolia Bakery, Courtyard Marriott, Lavonne, and Boston Consulting Group. With strong backing, a loyal community, and a clear vision, Good Farmer Food Concepts is now brewing its most ambitious chapter yet.
