Bar Sama is Bangalore’s newest neighbourhood cocktail bar with serious international pedigree behind it — a collaboration with Singapore’s Cat Bite Club, one of Asia’s most respected cocktail collectives, currently ranked #44 on Asia’s 50 Best Bars. Designed by Pronoti Chabbi of Studio Grain, the 50-seat space plays with duality: the outer section channels Old Bangalore with charcoal-and-dusty-green walls and art deco grilles, while the inner room softens into a modern cocoon with fabric panels and floral motifs. At the centre, a marble bar counter invites conversation with the bartender or the stranger next to you. Cocktails are built around balance — flavour, texture, and temperature working together rather than competing. Try the Amla Affair or the kokum-laced Tide Caller, a bold spin on a Dirty Martini. Chef Vichita Kumar’s Thai-inspired small plates, including a Roast Chicken Khao Soi and Steak Nahm Dtok, are designed to keep pace with the drinks rather than play second fiddle.
